Financial XLA created an accounting module in Excel to manage donation information and generate comprehensive donor reports based on time period or donation type. The main database remains secured as users are provided specific fields for input. The Excel Workbook is also password protected to prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing sensitive donor and application information that is specifically used for CRM.

This application was created specifically for an NGO and provides “thank you” letters. It permits users to upload databases from Excel, Access CSV files, and upload the data into a master file. Prior to processing, Excel displays the transactions on-screen with review and correction capabilities. An audit trail of modifications permits users to track their changes. FinancialXLA also programmed Excel to check for information accuracy through data validation for specific fields such as date of birth and identity number, and prepare reports with set parameters and criteria. FinancialXLA automated built-in reports for donors as well as tax authorities alongside a report generator that enables Excel to develop templates independently.

FinancialXLA also equipped the spreadsheet with a strong search engine that allows users to manage the database without hassle. Data can be manually keyed in via input form, typed into the drop-down fields or uploaded from existing Excel documents or CSV files.

In the second stage of this project, FinancialXLA updated the Excel Database with a further requirement to allow users to capture specific donation information and generate donor reports. This information consists of: Specific Format for OR Number, Accounting System Formatting, Mailmerge Header to be removed, Export to .csv in a specific format, fixing of general errors, Hide the unneeded Excel sheets as well as modifying text notifications.
